The joy of showing dogs (Part 2)
Updated: Feb 4, 2021
Have you ever thought of what it would be like to step in the ring with your fur baby? I once wondered the same thing! Then I read some articles and watched videos and movies (my personal favorite is Best in Show) and was brave enough to take a handling class. The joy that handling brings and the special bond it creates with your puppy lasts forever. The feeling of adrenaline you get when you are sharing a precious moment with your beloved best friend and going around the ring with him or her has no comparison. You are learning from each other and being there for each other, letting the world know that you have the "best dog" on the planet! So, if you have never tried it, I recommend it! Take a lesson or two. Give it a try. Take your time and prepare yourself. Find a mentor. Get a friend or two to take a class with you. Share the sport with others and keep it alive. No matter where you are in the world, find a handling class and let the fun begin. Become a handler and…who knows? Maybe one day you and your fur baby will earn your own “Best in Show” ribbon!
